Mission
History
|
Founded in 2017, DAU, now AIJ, was formed due to the increasing need for support and representation for DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals) and undocumented students at IUPUI.
DACA was a program put in place as an executive order by President Obama, which granted certain individuals relief from deportation if they could meet specific criteria. The end of DACA left many students filled with uncertainty and confusion about their future. AIJ, alongside with our community and allies we work together to bring a support system to undocumented individuals, and to liberate our community. |
